[HCG Diet 5 Lessons Learned] Lessons Learned #3: More Hunger Busters

So you’re on the HCG Diet, everything’s clicking along nicely and then one day — BOOM!

You have a hunger pang.

So, what caused you to be hungry? I mean outside of the fact that it’s time to eat? Keeping it simple layperson, No BS terms — low blood sugar.

Too simple? Okay… how’s this:

“Back off, man. I’m a scientist.”

When your blood sugar level gets below a certain point, that triggers an automatic signal to your hypothalamus and that’s what tells you it’s time to eat.

Not simple enough? Hey, “Back off, man.  I’m a scientist.”  😉

That’s what causes it and it’s pretty simple, so here are some more hunger buster tactics to deal with it.

Brush your teeth.

Uh-huh. It’s kind of a funny little psychological mechanism. But think about when you brush your teeth. When do you do it? Yeah, right after you eat. Which means you’ve already eaten. Which means you’re no longer hungry.

I know from personal experience that even if I felt a little hungry, I wouldn’t eat after I brushed my teeth. So, make the agreement with yourself to not eat for an hour after brushing and this will do the trick.

It is very weird how it works, but it does.

This is why you’re doing the HCG Diet in the first place.

Now another great hunger-busting strategy and we’ll go over this more in Lessons Learned #5 – and that’s to always keep your eye on the prize. Always.

And the prize in this case is simply your end result. Your goal.

Famous efficiency expert Dr. Stephen Covey coined a term  that has become part of our language and way of thinking: “Begin with the end in mind.”

In my coaching program, part of your homework the first week is to define in your goals. In other words, “Begin with the end in mind.

Those who are the most successful on this diet begin their HCG journey with being focused on that end result.

“Begin with the end in mind”, remember? That’s how you do it. That’s how all of our most successful members did it.

Are there other hunger busting tactics? Sure.

Another great hunger coping strategy is chewing gum. But not just any gum. We found two gums that work really well:

  •   Stevia-flavored gum
  •   Green tea gum

Btw, the green tea gum works just like green tea in your system and accelerates your fat loss. It works really, really well.

But here’s the one thing I want to stress in all of this hunger management strategy stuff – and that is if you do the HCG protocol right, a lot of these things won’t be necessary.

Sure you may occasionally use them but I think you’ll find that during your HCG Journey that most of the issues you encounter are largely psychological.

And lastly, one of the sure things to dampen the old hunger mechanism is exercise.

Good old fashion exercise or just moving around. Nothing curbs hunger like a 10 minute brisk walk or jumping jacks or just getting up and moving around and do something significant for 10 minutes.

Nine times out of ten while it won’t necessarily get rid of all hunger – you’ll find it significantly reduces it.

And that after all is what you’re after, right?

Next, the best sweetener you’ll use for the rest of your life. It won’t make you fat to use it (it can’t) and it’s good for you, too.
