HCG Diet Q and A: Which Is The Best Brand Of HCG To Buy?

hcg diet-hcg drops-ovidacSo the question I get most often from HCG Dieters is ‘Which is the best HCG brand to buy?

Nu Image Medical has proven to be the best place to buy reputable, effective, and the consistently highest potency HCG for HCG Diets we’ve found.

But some of you live in one of the states where HCG cannot be sold online and yet you want to do the HCG Diet.

Well, let me tell you this: my first coaching clients (and I, for all 3 successful rounds) used HUCOG on each HCG Diet round with great success, and most are now switching over to using Nu Image’s HCG (not a name brand, but compounded).

Over the years we’ve tested several of the top companies and Nu Image Medical consistently came out on top across all criteria.

Let’s face it —

you only have a limited number of rounds on the HCG Diet and you want to get the max out of each round. So the last thing you want to play roulette with is the quality of the HCG which will determine how much fat you drop during each rHCG Diet ound.

Here’s the thing with different brands of any type of drug — from Tylenol to HCG; everyone is different and everyone has different experiences with different brands.

Unfortunately, you really won’t know until you use it yourself.

That’s a bit tricky when you’re on something like the HCG Diet and you only have a little 6 week window to lose the most fat and inches you can.

However, after coaching nearly 600 members one-on-one and influencing thousands more HCG Dieters online, I can tell you that the HCG from Nu Image Medical kicks the butt of anything else we’ve tested to date for folks’ HCG Diets.

And in a market flooded with overseas pharmacies selling cheap HCG and what comes with that — wildly varying potency levels, contaminated vials, the HCG getting hung up in Customs… oy vey!

But Nu Image works hand-in-hand with the U.S. pharmacies to ensure that potency hits 98.3%.

Look, if I’m telling you something you don’t already know, then I hate to break it to ya but there’s a REASON overseas pharms can sell it so cheap for desperate HCG Diet folks, and it’s not because they’re nice people.

They’re doing it because they can. And they’re banking on your stupidity and the “pennywise, pound foolish” mentality to buy it.

I mean seriously, it’s the HCG Diet. And when the normal price of HCG is a couple of hundred dollars, then who in their right mind thinks that buying HCG for $17 is going to turn out well?

You see, offshore pharmacies? They aren’t regulated by the FDA and the DEA. They can import whatever the hell they want to into our country, claim it works and whether it does or not is YOUR HCG Diet crapshoot, not theirs.

They just take the money and run. They don’t care whether you have a great HCG Diet journey or not.

In the U.S. the FDA requires any generic medication to be within 10% of the brand formulation. Essentially, only the ‘fillers’ can be completely different, the active ingredient is still the same. Unfortunately any medications being shipped into the U.S. from other countries are not regulated and those active ingredient percentage amounts can vary from country-to-country.

And we see this all the time on everyone’s HCG Diet.

With Nu Image, because it’s a U.S. company, it’s HCG is regulated by the FDA. When they say “98.3% potency” you can betcher booties that the FDA and the DEA are making sure that’s correct! And what a relief because that’s one less thing you have to worry about while on your HCG Diet journey.

Along similar lines, I get asked some variation of this question:

‘I’m on the HCG Diet, how do I know my HCG is still good?’ or “When does HCG go bad on an HCG Diet?’

The best way to tell if your HCG is still potent is to use those HCG Diet testing strips or just a plain ole pregnancy test.

When you’re on the HCG Diet, premixed HCG is generally good for 25-30 days depending on brand, age of products, type of diluent, storage environment, and other factors.

HCG Diet test strips are designed to test the potency of your HCG down to 15 to 20 IUs.

  1. Drop 0.5 ml of your premixed HCG on the test strip.
  2. Wait 5 minutes.
  3. If the HCG is still good, two purple lines will appear. If not, only one purple line will appear on the test strip. One purple line indicates that you need to mix a new batch of HCG, that your HCG may be expired, or you may need to use a different diluent.

Here are some other random HCG Diet tips that work for almost everyone (okay, they work for everyone that I know of, there may be some odd ducks out there and I just haven’t met them yet):

  • When plateaued on your HCG Diet journey, cut out the carbs… cut out the breads… yep, that grissini (did I spell that right?) or melba toast could be making you hungry or giving your brain the symptoms of being hungry. This has been seen in cases with those who have allergies to wheat products and/or yeast injections.
  • Drink LOTS of water with a bit of stevia in it — on or off the HCG Diet. Keeps the blood sugar nice and level which means no sudden hunger pangs.
  • Brew a big ‘ole pot of coffee or tea (my fave is mixing loose leaf green tea and yerba mate) and drink it as many times as you need each day. You can have as much coffee and tea as you like and still stay within HCG Diet protocols.

How do I know this? Because since I was logging everything while I was on the HCG Diet, then it was easy to track back and find the culprit. Also because I made my HCG Diet coaching clients and members keep meticulous records as well. Why?

Simply because “You cannot manage what you don’t measure.”

And there’s nowhere more true that the statement applies than the HCG Diet.

Thank you so much for answering my questions about Ovidac! It totally makes sense… it is just the brand name! Of course, I will let you know how it differs from what I am currently using.

The good thing is that I don’t have to worry about 175 i.u. injections being too much since I will be doing the sublingual the next round. From a previous post, I should take 1/2 ml twice daily… You can let me know if I am wrong about that!

I’ve moved my start date up a week to October 2nd which will accommodate my parents who will be doing their first round with me (as I do my second). They wanted to be a bit into P3 by Thanksgiving… and who can blame them?? I am already researching P3 appropriate Cheesecake recipes just for the occasion! :)

    Thank you again, Walter!!

I can’t believe I found your site. It is perfect for me with 3 days into the injections. I received my hCG through a doctor, pharmacy in SLC. 23 injections $60 from the pharmacy. He mixed it onsite while I waited. You said something about test strips. I read I can do a pregnancy (lol) test to determine I have hCG in my system. What is the story on test strips – do they use the same science as preg tests? Are they easy to get and reasonable cost? Should the pharmacist tell me the brand of hCG if I ask? He said they go through two distributors which helps them keep the cost down. The bottle says 150 unit per dose – does that mean IU’s. So many questions – sorry – so glad you are here!!

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

    > He mixed it onsite while I waited.

did you check the expiration date beforehand? I live by the old Ronald Reagan saying: “Trust, but verify.”

    > What is the story on test strips – do they use the same science as preg tests? Are they easy to get and reasonable cost?

They’re more accurate than a pregnancy test because they measure the accuracy down to 15 IUs of HCG

    > Should the pharmacist tell me the brand of hCG if I ask?

Yes. It’s not an unreasonable question. When you order online, you automatically know.

    > He said they go through two distributors which helps them keep the cost down.

That violates good economic sense. If true, it would be the first time in history that adding more middlemen actually decreased the cost — of anything.

    > The bottle says 150 unit per dose – does that mean IU’s.

Without looking at the bottle I couldn’t’ possibly tell for sure. There are a number of reasons I’d be a bit… Skeptical at this point.

    Hope that helps.

thank you so very much. I intend to call the pharmacy tomorrow to verify IUs versus some obscure “units” The bottle of injectable liquid has a script label on it with contents info plus statement which says keep refrigerated – expires 60 days after preparation date. The bottle with the injection fluid is then packaged in a large sized amber prescription bottle with a label affixed with the contents, pharmacy name, phone number etc. like any other prescription bottle. I also discovered that use of hcg helps with testosterone levels turning us guys into maniacal flesh mongers (lol)- seriously I think that is an enticing little side benefit which I intend to enjoy with my new bod!!!! Glad you are out there – can I buy the test strips through the recommended site in your information? A pregnancy test in some circles might be considered news worthy but I think I’ll travel the most traveled road. Thanks again. Your before and after photos tell all. Wish me luck!!! You are appreciated.

Walter – love your website, great information and support! However, unfortunately for me, I found you sorta late :( I had already purchased my HCG drops. I have a question – if I have been on a lesser/weaker version of the HCG drops (with Keto strips my urine is showing little fat loss) – can I go straight to the Pharmacy Escrow version without having to take a break? If so, do you think it would be ok to do the full 42 days? I know it will take a few weeks for the Pharmacy Escrow drops to arrive, but I figured I would go ahead and continue taking what I have until they arrive.

I have been on them 23 days now and have lost only 11 pounds. I have been trying to go by the book – changed out everthing except my toothpaste. I am starving and even though I only do light workouts 4 times a week I have noticed that my legs and arms are starting to feel really weak.

I deeply appreciate your time and help!

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

    Kyleen,
I advise getting off the hhcg drops immediately because you’re just hurting your body and weakening your Will to do the HCG Diet right when you get the real Rx HCG. Comb through the comments here for folks who have ignored that advice, went straight from hhcg to Rx HCG — and paid the price.

    > I am starving and even though I only do light workouts 4 times a week I have noticed that my legs and arms are starting to feel really weak.

OF COURSE you’re starving! 500 cals/day without the benefit of HCG is a **STARVATION DIET!**

    >>Do This for Max Success on your HCG Diet:<<

    1. Give yourself a break. Learn from your mistakes. Turn this into a learning opportunity and don’t beat yourself up.

    2. Get off the hhcg right now. Throw it in the trash where it belongs.

    3. While you’re waiting for the Rx HCG, take the time to get healthy again — i.e., quit starving yourself.

    4. Wait 6 weeks from last day on hhcg.

    5. Start your HCG Diet on real Rx HCG.

    6. Lose a lot of fat safely.

    7. Keep me posted and let me know how I can help you be successful on the Rx HCG, okay?

  • Kyleen

Walter thanks so much for your time! I’ve inquired a couple of other places and they just tell me to consult my doctor. What you are saying makes alot of sense. I do feel really weak right now and lately find myself making stupid mental mistakes which is not normal. I just ordered from Pharmacy Escrow and will try it again in 6 weeks.

    Again, Thanks!

HI WALTER I MADE THAT MOVE DEC 7 NOW I’M JUST WAITING FOR MY SHIPMENT I ORDERED THE HCG-HUCOG HIGH PURITY . WHATEVER I READ WHEN STRAIGHT OUT THE DOOR NOW I FORGOT HOW MUCH TO TAKE AND HOW TO MIX IT IM VERY NERVOUS I HOPE IT WORKS FOR ME . I KEEP HEARING ABOUT HOW ANYBODY STOPS BECAUSE THEY GET HUNGRY I HOPE I DONT FALL OFF THE WAGON. IM READY FOR THE NEW YEAR

  • Mike

Is it safe to change from one brand of HCG to another brand after about 4 weeks?

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

Really depends on the brands and types of HCG, Mike.

  • Kellye

I purchased the hcg sublingual from nuimage thru this site. Started Phase 1 on Sat Feb 5th and Phase 2 on Monday. I gained 4 lbs loading! As of today lost 9 lbs. I have done this diet before so I know it works! What worries me is I am measing 3 drops or 25ml of the sublingual 2x a day and have only half a bottle left! I don’t think it is going to last 40 days! Has anyone else out there had this problem? Mine came from Palmer pharmacy so it looks like NuImage may use different pharmacys??? Would appreciate input ! Thank you!

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

Hmmm… Something doesn’t add up. If you ordered from NIM, then that pharmacy isn’t their compounding one. Double-check it came from NIM and/or that pharm and get back to me.

My next question is did you order enough for a 40 day program?

  • Jroland1975

I am doing he HCG diet to perfection. I am doing the troches and I have to say I am hungry. What am I doing wrong. I do not cheat. Drink lots of water and tea. But in the late afternoon and late evening I get very hungry. I eat every bit of 500 calories. I have read where some dont even feel like eating- that has not hapenning with me.

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

Couldn’t possibly begin to tell you because you provided no detail. But this I do know, if you were indeed “doing the HCG diet to perfection” then you would not be “getting very hungry.”

  • April

Hey Walter. Have you had a lot of people that you KNOW had true success with the Troches? I am planning to order a refill tomorrow and am wondering if I should switch to the Troches or attempt the injections (I did sublingual before). I would really love to hear someone that had success from them. So far the only comment someone has made on here about them is that he/she was hungry.

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

April, you surprise me. I thought you’ve been reading me long enough to know that I NEVER recommend anything I haven’t personally used or had trusted test subjects try. Such was the case a couple of months ago when my group tested the new troches. I couldn’t test them out because I don’t have the fat to lose.

    > So far the only comment someone has made on here about them is that he/she was hungry.

If that person ever responds to my question they we’ll know more but as with many of these cases, I bet the person is doing a lot of other things wrong.

We found troches were good for an average of 5-7 lbs greater loss than drops due to the way ALL the HCG is delivered into the system, whereas drops tend to leak out from under the tongue.

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

Seriously… if that person were doing as they claimed “doing the hcg diet to perfection” then he/she wouldn’t be getting hungry.

  • April

Thank you Walter….from my comments you should know I question, and question and question everything : ) I am very very excited for my next round and I just want to make sure I am using the best product possible (well I really don’t want to do injections…although I would if that was my only option)! Thank you for your candor!

  • Hugsishome

Hi Walter, I am so excited to start your soon-to-start coaching session. I would like to make sure that I am on the list. I signed up but havent heard anything back yet for confirmation. Is there any way you can check for me? Also, I need to know when I should get my troches for a 40 day round. I have to lose a whopping 160 lbs…That is a whole person! How sad is that?

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

If you clicked on the link in your confirmation email then you’re in. Best time to get troches is any time before you begin. Just make sure you account for possible shortages due to seasonal ordering.

Despite warning folks for weeks, it is just occuring to some that summer is here.

  • Cristyyulismtz

What is best the injections or the drops and what brand

  • Bsp09

Hi! I have been taking a Rx hCG (shots) for 17 days now… I have lost 22lbs! I was incredibly disappointed when the girl who gets my stuff mixed it wrong and I was shorted 4 days and said I couldn’t get the next round until sometime next week. I was wondering if I should try and find some credible drops until my next round arrives or… what??? So lost and very disappointed :/
Thanks in advance for any helpful info you can offer!!

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

Hmmm… I don’t know, sounds like you’ve got some kind of odd setup going on there. What do you mean by “the girl who gets my stuff?” Let’s start there and then unravel it.

  • excited to start

Hi Walter,  Are the torques as potent as the injections? and or the inhaled spray version?
What is the most potent?  Will be traveling and was thinking about the torques but I thought the injections or the inhaled would be stronger!

    Thank you.

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

This article is a great overview of the 3 ways of taking HCG http://gutlessinseattle.com/4627/a-little-hcg-drops-fact-or-fiction-reality-check-here/

There are no studies that prove the nasal spray is a viable delivery method, in fact, the pharmacists snicker at the very idea.

  • ace11389

How are you doing Coach I am In the Military(USN) and I was wondering if this dietary route will interfere with my urinalysis or my PT schedule( everyday of the week). Any Advice would be good and Thank you.

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

It will show up in the urinalysis. And thank YOU for your service.

I find that “Hunger” means something different to people. You may be thirsty, or have indigestion. I’m on my second round of HCG. My stomach was protesting the first few days, but I did not have an appetite, so I wasn’t tempted to cheat. I did however pick up some Yerba Mate tea to give me something warm to drink in the morning hours. It’s helped a lot, and it too will zap your appetite. Also, try spreading out your fruit.
