Homeopathic HCG Diet Scam Tragically Claims Another Victim

homeopathic hcg-hcg diet-hcg dropsHCG and the whole sea of misinformation about the HCG Diet and protocol.

It’s amazing in this day and age that there can still be so much wrong information about a simple little thing like the HCG Diet.

Whom do you believe? Who knows what they’re talking about? Who doesn’t?

How do you separate HCG Diet fact from fiction?

Look, before I begin I want to say this in my own defense: I’m not a negative guy. There, I’ve said it.

But someone has to report the bad news so you don’t get swindled and taken in by one of these homeopathic HCG Diet scams.

Judy is just the most recent tragic example of someone who, with the best of intentions, bought homeopathic “HCG” hoping to finally beat a weight problem using the HCG Diet and… was less than impressed with the results, as you’ll see.

And while I know it must look as though I have some sort of vendetta against homeopathic “HCG” (I can’t bear to continue the charade of acknowledging it as HCG), I really don’t. I’d love to never report on it again.

And yet… and yet, here’s the challenge: I’ve been getting these for a while now — the complaints, the cries for help from frustrated folks who launched themselves into the daunting task of losing the weight quickly and safely on the HCG Diet – well, they tried this homeopathic “HCG” diet thing and it failed to work as advertised.

So what happens then? They paint all HCG, even the Rx HCG with a broad brush claiming “The HCG Diet doesn’t work.”

The HCG Diet, using HCG… real HCG, the pharmaceutical HCG does work. There’s no question about it. There’s just too much proof to realistically claim otherwise. Heck, you’re reading this because you saw that it worked great for me and could, following my example, work wonders for you as well.

So why have I devoted so much “ink” to it if it’s such a big scam? Simply this, for the same reason that the news only reports on the bad things that are happening in the world and not the good — because the “bad” things are the things that need to be dealt with.

The “bad” news, the so-called “negative” stuff are the obstacles that stand in our way.

You don’t need to do anything with the “good” news except enjoy it and take it in. “Good” news will never come ’round and bite you on the ass if you don’t do something about it. The “bad” news, the things that need to be dealt with, always does.

Always.

There’s an old Russian proverb that says, “Good news can wait. Bad news never does.”

Therefore, those of us experienced HCG Diet’ers who know better have an obligation to put a spotlight put upon what needs to be dealt with so the folks can see it and take appropriate action.

Judy’s comment that sparked this post is here:

Hey! Hi Walter ..Turned on to your site by a good friend in Issaquah. Have been on the HCG diet since January — did the 43, stopped for 6 weeks as my manual instructed, gained a pound or two, restarted the second session early April. This time I am having a whale (!) of a time! Yo-yoing. My appetite is NOT suppressed proven by the licked clean plates, sugar addiction is totally out of control this time. #1- Using Homeopathic HCG diet drops, 3X day under tongue, between meals. Drops from Mediral International Denver, CO. BTW, appetite was never suppressed during 1st 43! #2- Friend uses “pure HCG diet drops” from pureh2oforhealth.com — I think it comes from Florida. DO YOU HAVE A RECOMMENDED SOURCE FOR THE DROPS? I don’t like the giving oneself shots idea! BESIDES LIKE TELLING AN ALCOHOLIC JUST TO NOT DRINK, ANY PROVEN IDEAS TO “CURE” THE SUGAR ADDICTION? Been telling doctors for years sugar is addictive. They laughed. Seems more so lately they aren’t laughing! Thanks for any help you can give! Judy

Here’s my response to her:

Hi Judy, Gotta say, I wish you had found this site sooner. Like before you got scammed with the homeopathic “HCG” Diet. I sure wish your story was an uncommon one but lately, I’m hearing more and more stories of how good folks, thinking they found a easier way to take HCG, are frustrated by just how little weight they lost on this faux “HCG.”

The answer to your challenges is really quite simple: you need to take real, pharmaceutical-grade HCG and kick the homeopathic crap to the curb and never do it again when doing your HCG Diet journey.

“It’s The Worst Thing You Can Take On The HCG Diet!”

Sorry if this is all a bit blunt, but I’m a No B.S. guy. One thing you can count on me for and my members know me for is this: I’ll always give it to you straight. And the straight scoop on your situation is this — homeopathic HCG is not HCG, has no HCG in it, has nothing to do with the HCG Diet and no amount of wishing and “magnetic imprints” will make it so.

Look, ravenous appetite, sugar cravings, yo-yoing weight — it all means your hypothalamus didn’t reset. That’s all. Which is the whole point of the HCG Diet in the first place, right?

Take a look at my two series on this very subject: HCG Diet: Separating Fact From Fiction and Dumbassed Guy’s Homeopathic HCG Diet Case Study.

I’ve been told it’s the most complete straight-scoop on homeopathic online.

Okay, with the setup and everything, I went really long today. So, thank you for bearing with me. Remember how I said on the Gutless In Seattle Fan Page that in response to her questions, I wrote over 2,000 words? Part 2 is next where I detail what her sugar cravings mean and why not losing a lot of weight probably saved her life.

Come on back, you don’t want to miss this one.

Oh no! Judy, did you forget to ‘smack the bottle several times in the palm of your hand to ‘success’ the drops’ (omg my eyes roll every time I think of that)? I was almost drawn in by the homeopathic thing, I am so grateful that I found this site first.

You’re too funny, Angel. And thanks for the kind words about my blog. This was my original vision when I started it, that it would become a resource for folks and that they would see similar results are possible for them.

Can you think of some ways I could improve the blog? Are there other things you’d like to see here, but aren’t? Let me know. I want this blog to work for people.

    Walter,

Thanks for the wonderful (as usual) answers! Ok, I’ve got another one for you . . . You said each 5000 IU will last 15 days. If you’re using 3 of them for the 43 day program do you only use the HCG for the 40 days of the program or, since the sublingual doesn’t cause an issue with immunity (as you stated in your wonderful response), do you go ahead and use it for 45 (or as long as it actually lasts) before doing the 3 VLCD days with no dosing?

    Thanks again!

Hi Walter … thanks for the response re: the homeo. hCg. Had read your blog re: the "scam" of homeo right before I emailed you. In re-reading what I wrote I unintentionally omitted that by the end of the first 43 I had lost 20 pounds. Was delighted since I read women on average lose about 1/2 pound a day — loved watching my graph line going down, down, down. It was at the end of the 6 weeks that I was up a couple pounds, so that seemed OK to me. BUT, this second 43 I have not lost any more weight due to cravings so it appears my hypothal. did not reset. Just today have "forced" myself to get back on track — but this shouldn’t be so hard IF the HCG were suppressing my appetite and sugar cravings, right?
That said … I will switch to the Pure HCG under-the-tongue drops, but how does one know for sure this isn’t a scam, also? My friend gets her drops from pureh2oforhealth.com, who have them labeled as Pure hCg. Those are the ones I plan to buy. She has lost over 40 pounds since late January, and she, too, this second session was having hunger trouble but back on track she has lost another 3 pounds. Do you have any experience or testimonials of the pureh2oforhealth drops? Thanks for all your help!
PS There is no room to enter the “Security Code” so after I click on “Submit” I get the message “Invalid Security Code” and looped back to my “Leave a Comment” comment. This is the same thing that happened when I first emailed you and didn’t think it went through but it evidently did. Hoping I’m not “submitting” the same thing several times. Here goes try #2, then I won’t try anymore hoping it has gone through. Will see if so when it appears on your blog. xo

    > do you go ahead and use it for 45 (or as long as it actually lasts) before doing the 3 VLCD days with no dosing?

Absolutely. I know there’s a lot of bad advice out there ranging from keeping the leftover HCG until your next round to throwing away any excess. Naw, just use it all up. There’s no downside to doing so, you can only lose more weight.

    Congrats on the weight loss!

    > My friend gets her drops from pureh2oforhealth.com, who have them labeled as Pure hCg.

Well, you can call a dog a racehorse but he still won’t win the Kentucky Derby. The homeopathic industry is not regulated and therefore, unfortunately, they can claim anything they like (and they do). Doesn’t make it true, though. That’s VERY important to keep in mind, Judy. Be interested to see if you still feel that way after Wednesday’s and Friday’s posts which are essentially parts 2 and 3 of my epic reply to your questions.

    > Those are the ones I plan to buy.

Well, I can’t stop you. Just highly, highly recommend against it. Since the prices between the fake HCG and the pharmaceutical HCG are pretty close, I’m curious as to why you wouldn’t just order real HCG?

    > Do you have any experience or testimonials of the pureh2oforhealth drops?

No and I wouldn’t believe a word of any of it after reviewing their site. To bottom-line it — what they sell is not “pure” and it’s not HCG. It’s homeopathic “HCG.” I dissect the most important part of their outright lying in one of the next posts. They come right out and admit it’s homeopathic, you just have to read carefully to catch it because they bury it.

And they keep yammering on about how HCG is a “living, organic substance.” I couldn’t stop laughing at that. Perhaps it is, but not in THIS reality.

The entire homepage of the site is one psychological trick after another. I wish I had the time to dissect it all out. In summary, I’ll say that it’s highly likely what they’re accusing everyone else (i.e., their competition) of doing — I noticed that they themselves are in fact doing. It’s sort of cleverly done, in an amateurish way.

After reading the way they parsed the truth out, and the afore-mentioned manipulation ploys — they lost all credibility. All I can say is “caveat emptor.”

    > She has lost over 40 pounds since late January

This one throws me a bit. Out of the dozen or so people I’ve had contact with who’ve taken the homeopathic blend, this is the most weight I’ve ever heard of anyone losing with it. So, given the large number who have one kind of experience and one rogue person, that I’m hearing about her results secondhand — let’s just say I’m skeptical and wondering about other factors.

In scientific circles this type of event is called an outlier. And as such, I have to consider your friend’s case an outlier and hold it in that context.

    > PS There is no room to enter the “Security Code” so after I click on “Submit”

I couldn’t duplicate it and had several friends try to duplicate it and they couldn’t. Perhaps it’s a matter of your screen resolution? I’ll look into it a bit more. It does explain why you always comment twice. I’ve just been deleting the duplicate comment.

Anyway, I hope you’re getting a lot of value out of the back-and-forth.

Hi again, Walter … the ongoing drama ;) My doctor called today, left a message on my cell phone, couldn’t understand it all since I’m hard of hearing; am charging the phone’s batteries right now so will re-listen in awhile. I gathered she said she would order drops for me if I’d like but I didn’t get what brand of drops.
Meantime, friend Gloria sent me email correspondence ‘twixt her and her doctor re: RELEANA; from her doctor’s office they state:

“RELEANA is the only patented, medical grade, quality controlled, sublingual form of human HCG. It can only be purchased through a licensed medical doctor that provides Releana. We screen our doctors very carefully and you should have all information about our prouduct and diet plan when you decide to do the diet. If you provide me with the name of the doctor you purchased “Releana” from I can tell you if he/she is a provider of “Releana” or not. Please check our web site for more information especially the FAQ section and make sure your bottle looks like ours. There are numerous copy cats and low prices on the Internet for HCG that have nothing to do with our product. Take care.”
    Any experience with this one?
For now, Walter … thank you for opening yet again another pair of eyes, slanted in doubt, looking with caution, wondering where are the REAL HCG drops?? Until I talk with my doctor will hold off buying anymore of the “old” stuff I’ve been taking or anything. Must add I have dropped another couple pounds, but is it starvation instead? I still crave sugar, chocolate in particular — a LOT! There must be a good cocoa powder & Stevia recipe somewhere — or is cocoa a no-no, too? I can’t remember off hand.
    xo in gratitude, Judy

Hi! There must be two sections to this blog subject — friend Gloria sent the part that included the Mediral communiques I sent earlier, but the one I received in my email didn’t have anything about that.
No Sweetheart … I didn’t doubt you (much) when I wrote querying Mediral. It’s just that I am lost as to what to buy and where. I looked at your recommended link but that seemed to be about shots. How does one know, really KNOW what is and where is the pure HCG drops?
My last email to you sent earlier tonight indicates what I’m doing re: changing the drops, just waiting to hear from my doctor which one she can order for me. Thanks a million for pointing the way …

No and I’m dead-set against any premade drops. Mix your own. Always. Always. ALWAYS! See Part 3 of my reply to you (posting today (Fri)) for the Why.

    > wondering where are the REAL HCG drops??

The real HCG drops are the ones you make yourself. See above comment and part 3 of my reply/post answering your questions.

    > I still crave sugar, chocolate in particular — a LOT!

See the tip in the most recent post to handle this. It always works.

    > There must be a good cocoa powder & Stevia recipe somewhere — or is cocoa a no-no, too?

There is! I have the recipe as a post somewhere here. I think so, anyway. It’s for chocolate nut clusters that you can have even in Phase 2 (judiciously). Cocoa you can have even on Phase 2 — IF you do it right. I found out about that one courtesy of a certain Curvy Goddess.

No, look closer. Shots or sublingual — it’s the same HCG.

Gloria, you do know that “drops” and “sublingual” refer to the same thing, right? As to “how do you know…” — I dunno, ask those with the experience with what works and what doesn’t, like you have been? Maybe? Perhaps? Okay, I’m being funny. Thanks so much, Walter!
I think your workbook/manual is a GREAT idea — the book not so much — we tire of having so much to read and time is a factor!
I bought HCG (Mediral) and a manual from a local “certified consultant”. Later discovered my doctor also sells HCG, and gives the shots. I didn’t switch to her but I did buy another manual from her, and since your revelations, I was going to go in this coming Monday to have her order the HCG for me from her source.
Both manuals have Dr. Simeon’s book in entirety in them; the foods to eat are basically the same. There is a difference in the amount of time to wait between going for the 2nd and 3rd rounds of weight loss — have heard 6 weeks ++, 2 weeks, and zero weeks wait. Another difference is in the language and use of “phases” which needs to be made patent. Also current update in foods allowed since there have been food changes since the 1950s.
    I do have some questions:
1- How long to wait between the 43-day sessions?
I have lost over 20 pounds and want to lose at least 40 more. This 2nd 43 days, which isn’t over until 5/16 unless I stop sooner (which I am doing since the unpure drops I have are almost zero — today is the last day), I have lost only a pound or two and am hungry, eating somewhat off the required menu (no wonder I’m not losing!). The hunger pangs wouldn’t happen if I had the right sublingual drops right?
2- Is there an “official” manual? I have been confused by hearsay and slight manual differences.
3- At the “end”, do we have to continue to monitor all that closely our food intake, the products on our skin, and supplements, etc. for the rest of our lives? I understand overdoing any carbs will pound on the pounds, but just how strict is strict, or loose? Is it merely to weigh every day and if up a couple pounds then to put in the correction?
More confusion reigns … See we really do need your “underground” manual up front and center. Honesty & Truth reigns supreme!
PS Hear you are a Landmarker which gives me ultimate confidence in what you say. Husband and I are 1980 est grads – Honolulu.
That’s it for now. I hope you do write your own manual with all your recommendations since you have been (were?) on the HCG Diet Plan for awhile now and have lots of experience from yourself and others. As you can tell, we of excess weight are sincere about losing weight, the light at the end for permanent weight loss beckons, and in the meantime confusion abounds.

Thanks for your feedback on the idea of a book or something I’m thinking about doing, Judy. What’s driving this idea is a lot of pressure from the folks and the VP of one of the world’s largest coffee companies. Last fall I coached him into shedding* over 80 pounds.

Ever since he’s been chewing my ear off about my stand, my mission to put the obesity epidemic on a diet. He thinks I should be out there DOING something more with what I know, on larger scale instead of coaching onesies and twosies.

He wants to help me develop a program that I can help more people at a time. I really enjoy my job, but heck, if I could help more people take their lives back… hmmmm

What do you think? Would you like a video course more than a workbook? And from a larger perspective, which do you think most folks would prefer?

Anyway I’d appreciate your response. You have very thoughtful questions and I value your ideas.

6 weeks between rounds. I haven’t seen any other time frame turn out well.

Judy, in order to answer your questions as completely as possible (and give everyone else an opportunity to learn from it as well) I continued this reply as a blog post HCG For Weight Loss: Clearing Up Reader’s Confusion

    Hi,
If I am using fake HCG homeopathic now do I need to take a 6 week break between that and when I begin using real HCG? Or, can I stop with the fake and go right into the real HCG without creating a tolerance?
    Thanks,

I know it doesn’t make sense but best practices dictates wait 6 and start w/stuff that works. What made you try hhcg in the first place?

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

Unfortunately, this is the state of homeopathic HCG. Since it is a fraudulent product, then how else can they keep tricking new people into ordering it except through deceptive practices?

Thanks for the heads-up I’ll alert the folks. I’m curious why you order HCG from a company that didn’t require a prescription. Did you know in advance it was not real HCG?

Glad I found you! I hate when people decide to do HCG and are totally uneducated. The drops are not HCG and now they even have the amino acid “hcg” drop and pills! These are just vitamins with appetite suppressants. So you will not be hungry and will loose weight but its a starvation type diet and not anything like the original HCG RX diet! These drops are rampant, on every shelf everywhere and I have no clue why people do not do any research before trying something like this. At the VERY LEAST people ought to read the protocol. Then go to a doc or buy some REAL RX HCG from a pharmacy. You are doing a great service here and HCG has gotten such a bad rap from ignorant people who really think they know what it is all about…

  • Ktrinacherrie

Also, I think you can switch mid-round. Just do both (hhcg and rx) for 3 days while the hhcg exits the system and the rx loads up…

SimplePure HCG is a huge RIPOFF!.  Paid for my product.  it has never been received.  Was not allowed to get a refund.  Called customer service, they are useless!  Kept me on hold 4 different times for over 40 minutes and were very rude.  going to advise the State Corporation Commission immediately!

  • http://www.gutlessinseattle.com Coach Walter

Well, it is a ripoff. It’s homeopathic HCG and even the FDA declared it illegal. This is what I’ve been telling ppl about for years. Looks like you didn’t get my message until it was too late.

You’re better off, though. If you had been on hhcg it just would have hurt your body, your metabolism would not have reset… you’re better off.
